What is a proof of payment?
A proof of payment is a document that confirms a bank transfer has been completed.
We may request it if there is a delay or issue with a payment so we can verify the transfer and match it to the correct workspace or invoice.
Accepted proof of payment documents
We accept bank-issued documents that show a completed transfer, including:
Bank transfer receipts
Bank statements showing the transaction
Bank payment confirmations
Remittance advice from your finance office (if it includes the required details)
Prolific invoices cannot be used as proof of payment.
Required information
Your proof of payment must clearly show:
Your details
Your name
Your bank’s name
Your account number
Destination details
Prolific’s name
Prolific’s bank account number
The payment reference or transfer description
Transaction details
Transfer date
Amount sent
Currency
Transaction or payment reference number
If any details are missing or unclear, we may ask for additional confirmation.
Accepted file formats
Submit proof of payment in a non-editable format, such as:
Screenshot
Photo
Scanned document
PDF
Editable formats (such as spreadsheets or text documents) are not accepted.
Check whether your payment has been received
Bank and wire transfers can take several working days to process.
Once the payment is matched to your workspace, your invoice status and workspace balance will update.
If your payment hasn’t appeared after several working days, we may ask you to provide proof of payment so our team can review the transfer.
If your payment reference is incorrect or missing
Payment references help us match transfers to the correct workspace or invoice. If the reference or invoice number is incorrect or missing, verification may take longer.
