You can now update your study description after your study has gone live. This means you no longer need to stop a study just to fix a typo or add new instructions.
What's changing
Previously, you could only edit a study description before publishing. Now, you can update it at any point, even while your study is active.
How to change the study description
Go to your project and select the study you want to update
Click the three dots next to the study you’d like to edit
Select "Update description"
Make your changes in the study description field
Select "Update description" to save
You'll see a confirmation message once your changes are live: "Description updated".
What participants see
Participants who have already started your study won't see the updated description. This keeps the experience consistent for anyone partway through your task.
Participants who haven't started your study yet will see the new description as soon as you save it.
Things to know
The "Update description" button stays grayed out until you make a change
You can update your description as many times as you need, whether your study is in draft, active, or paused
Updates apply immediately, with no review or approval step
Keep updates short and clear, so participants notice them right away
