We regularly review our prescreening criteria to keep them relevant. Occasionally, we remove less-used questions to make space for new ones, preventing both participants and researchers from feeling overwhelmed.
During this process, outdated questions are first marked as [Deprecated] for a few weeks before being completely removed.
Publishing studies with deprecated screeners
You may still see deprecated screeners appear temporarily — for example, in draft or duplicated studies. However:
Once a screener has been removed from the platform, the screener will be removed from the study. If you try to publish a draft, you’ll receive an error message.
To continue, we recommend using Custom screening to make sure participants meet the criteria you are looking for before taking your study.
Good to know
You’ll see the [Deprecated] label clearly marked next to affected screeners during the phase-out period
Once a screener is removed, it will no longer be available on the app.
You can still access past data from a deprecated or removed screener.
We do not remove screeners mid-study - live studies won’t be affected.
We recommend using our Custom screening if the screener you need is no longer available
