The feedback tab shows you real-time insights from participants: how easy your study was to complete, how clear your instructions were, and why participants left, canceled, or dismissed your study from their dashboard. Use it to catch issues early and improve your next study.
Where to find it
Every study has a feedback tab, next to your study's submissions page. It becomes available as soon as you publish your study, so you don't need to wait for data collection to finish to start reviewing feedback.
Summary cards
At the top of the feedback tab, you'll find five cards that summarize how participants are experiencing your study.
Ease of task: the average rating participants give your study, on a scale of one (very difficult) to five (very easy)
Clarity of instructions: the average rating participants give your study's instructions, on the same one to five scale
Fairness of reward: the average rating participants give your study's reward, on the same one to five scale
Left the study early: the percentage of participants who started your study, then canceled their participation and returned their submission
Study dismissed: the number of participants who chose to dismiss your study from their study dashboard, without starting it
Together, these cards give you an early signal on whether your study is running smoothly, so you can step in and make changes before data collection wraps up.
Feedback sections
Below the summary cards, you'll find three feedback sections: completed study feedback, canceled study feedback, and dismissed study feedback. Each one reflects a different point at which a participant left feedback:
Completed study feedback: from participants who finished your study
Canceled study feedback: from participants who canceled their participation and returned their submission
Dismissed study feedback: from participants who dismissed your study from their study dashboard
Each section starts with an AI-generated summary of the written feedback participants left, so you can quickly understand the key themes without reading every response. Select See more to read the full summary.
Below the summary, you'll see a breakdown of feedback by category, with the percentage and number of participants who selected each one. Categories include:

Scroll down to View all feedback for the complete list, shown in one table. Each row shows:
Feedback category: the category or categories the participant selected
Written feedback: any additional comments the participant added
Feedback source: whether the feedback came from a study submission, a canceled participation, or a dismissed study
Participant ID shared: whether the participant agreed to share their Prolific ID with you
When participants submit feedback, they can choose to share their Prolific ID with you. This allows you to contact them via Prolific to discuss their feedback or invite them to a follow-up study. We recommend reaching out if a participant reports a technical issue and has agreed to share their ID.

Can I respond to participant feedback?
If a participant has agreed to share their Prolific ID, you can contact them via Prolific to follow up. If they haven't shared their ID, you won't be able to identify or contact them.
Does a high number of dismissals affect my study?
Dismissals and early departures are useful signals that something in your study, such as your description, instructions, or reward, may need adjusting. Use this feedback to make changes to your study while it's still live.
Is study feedback available on all workspaces?
